Bad Bunny’s new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” is an open invitation into his world. Each song captures raw, genuine moments, making it feel like he’s speaking directly to us listeners.
Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter. Known as the “King of Latin Trap,” his music has expanded beyond Spanish-speaking countries, capturing global interest.
Bad Bunny’s most popular song, “DÁKITI,” is a 2020 reggaeton hit featuring Jhayco. As of November 13, 2023, it has amassed nearly 2 billion streams on Spotify.
His most recent album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” (“I should have taken more photos”) was released on January 5th, 2025. This sixth studio album features 17 tracks that blend traditional Puerto Rican music with modern styles.
The first track on the album, titled “DtMF”, gained major attention after going viral on TikTok, where it became the soundtrack of a popular trend. In the trend, users shared nostalgic photos and videos showcasing meaningful memories and paired them with the song’s chorus. The idea behind the trend was to express feelings of appreciation and gratitude, whether for past experiences, people, or moments.
As more users participated in the trend, the song gained massive streams and eventually topped Spotify’s Global chart, reaching 130.5 million streams just one week after its release.
One of the more traditional songs on Bad Bunny’s new album is titled “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” (Unforgettable dance), accompanied by a modern twist. The song also became very popular on TikTok as it has a very catchy and conventional rhythm.
Similarly, the song “NUEVAYoL” draws inspiration from an old Puerto Rican classic called ‘Un verano en Nueva York’ (A summer in New York). The track samples and combines elements from the well-known Latin song with Bad Bunny’s signature style. This fusion of the old and the new attracts streams from all age groups and reflects Bad Bunny’s respect for traditional music.
However, “VeLDÁ”, featuring artists Omar Courtz and Dei V, stands out from the other tracks because of its unique futuristic vibe, which sets it apart from most songs on the album. It has an incredibly catchy beat that makes it easy to get stuck in your head, and its rhythm is perfect for dancing.
Last but not least, my personal favorite, “KLOuFRENS” which is a very upbeat song featuring brief vocals from artist De La Rose, who is also Puerto Rican. The song became popular on (you guessed it) TikTok, when a dance using the song’s bridge filled the For You Page. ‘KLOuFRENS’ follows a very similar style to Bad Bunny’s 2020 album “El Último Tour del Mundo” (The last tour of the world), which was one of his most memorable and successful releases.
