Our Purpose Statement
The purpose of The Panther Press is to bring awareness to important issues and current events in both our school community and the world. We will also aim to ethically use our platform as journalists to inform our audience so that they can make decisions for themselves.
Our Audience
The Panther Press values the intricate diversity of the staff, students, and community. We believe that the San Domenico community should feel connected and respected through The Panther Press. Our goals are to inform and educate our readers with the truth and current events not only at San Domenico, but also the world around us.

- Avoid reporting on any event, person, organization etc. that you have a vested in portraying in a positive or negative light.
- Never obscure, leave out, or otherwise make inaccessible information for the sake of swaying the readership towards a specific point of view
- Clarify ethical choices, acknowledge and fix mistakes
- Verify information, take responsibility for your work and identify your sources
- For those who may be affected by the news, compassion must be shown.
- Refuse gifts, special treatments and any activities that may compromise integrity, impartiality or may damage credibility.
- Use original sources.
- Only allow anonymous sources when publishing identities will clearly cause measurable harm.
